register of an athletes cardiac rhythm (WIN-DATA)
Dra. Patricia
Wightman, Dr. Enrique Prada, Lic. Alfredo Fenili, Medical
Department, Sport Psychology and Sport Cardiology CENARD
Argentina.
The purpose of this study was to develop
a reliable evaluation instrument for interdisciplinary use
(psychological and cardiological) with regards to an athletes
conscious register of his/her Cardiac rhythm also the precoz
detection of alterations in the athletes Cardiac rhythm
which could influence his/her performance and finally to
determine the modifications produced by mental training.
The subjets (51) junior elite athletes (15-19 years old)
males and females from group and individual sports, were
evaluated in the National Training Center for High performance.
The results:
The two group sports with more competitive experience showed
more knowledge in optimal levels of energy dy means of C.R.
acceleration - C.R. control and ideal C.R. for their particular
sport. Mental training and use of the polar improved the
conscious register of the C.R. in the individual sport athletes,
who were retested during this period. No new cardiac alterations
were discovered in this population of athletes, although
previously registed alterations were confirmed.

The Aplication of the Tolouse Test
on Elite Athletes.
The Tolouse Test evaluates the athletes attentional capacity
in a set time and context, and the relationship between
atention and production, all of this in a pressure situation
which the athlete must confront. The data-base for this
research was taken from the total population of elite athletes
in the Argentine National Training Center. A satistical
number of 120 cases were selected (20% of the evaluated
total). The study was divided into various groups carefully
respecting the importance of each in the total percentage.
a) Individual and group sports. b) Masculine and femenine.
C) Juniors and Seniors.
The results are organized in grafics and tables to facilitate
the presentation of our conclusions. The purpose of this
study was to have comparative data on our athletic population
so as to understand diferences and use the results (along
with other tests) to adjust our psychological interventions
with the athletes. The coclusions we considered important
were a) The amount of production is inversely proportional
to the quality of concentration b)the significance of the
diferences between the evaluated groups.
